Mr. Cho has consistently stood for values with courage and determination since decades and titled for good governance and corruption free governments.
On Good Governance, CM quoted the great poet and philosopher of TN Thiruvalur who said what good governance is, “Generating wealth, saving wealth, maintaining wealth, and spending it for the welfare of the people if the duty of good government.”
Speaking on Central Government, CM Narendra Modi expressed his unhappiness about the all round failure of the Government and also its arrogant attitude towards the state governments. "Not only the Centre does not do things, it also does not allow the states to do good work," CM said attacking the Congress for its failure at giving good governance. Except playing dynastic politics and centralizing power, the Congress has done precious little to serve the people, he charged.
Making an important point, Modi said, “Rajiv Gandhi had once said that if 100 paisa are sent from Delhi, only 15 paisa reaches the common man, but this party has done little to change the situation. Many of times I feel that it is easy to criticize but difficult to deliver, no I am saying all this with confidence and conviction that it is all possible. I speak from my own experience and the experience of Gujarat.”
He said, China’s economy is three times bigger than India and the reason is that Indian Economy could not take off as of independence, Indian policies were not growth oriented. It has been a Status quo governance that focused more on power position and politics. He was concerned of this situation if it continued long as almost 40 years of ruling party to realize that the policies they were pursuing were not right. Mr. Modi mentioning figures of growth rates mentioned of the mismanagement of the UPA Government and stated that this financial year, 4.7 lac crores have been borrowed to run the government. As per the rule, of the normal 3% allowed for Center and States to borrow, Center has borrowed more than 3% and crossing over 4.5%. His further concerns was Terrorism and UPA’s negligent attitude towards the issues and is focused on vote bank politics. As a result of this, Gujcoc bills (Gujarat Control of Organized Crime) has been waiting for 4 years to be approved by Central Government.
CM Narendra Modi further lashed the UPA governments and their inefficiency of good governance. He mentioned ‘Transparency is the need of the hour. In the name of development, the UPA has only focused on power and funds at the central level. CM described dynasty culture as great threat to democracy and termed dynasty rule as new kind of Raja Maharaja tradition.
Mr. Advani who remained present on the occasion said, "There are several important issues on which our parties hold convergent views and moreover, these are the very issues on which the principles and practices of the Congress are divergent. Today, our country needs more and more transformational leaders like Jayalalithaa and (Gujarat CM) Narendra Modi."
